Relieve Him

[Rosalie’s POV]

I scoot a little closer to Diego as he lets a growl rip from his chest, but despite his protests about me being near, he doesn’t move to hurt me.

“See,” I murmur, reaching out and touching his cheek while a groan escapes his lips and his eyes roll into the back of his head. “You aren’t going to hurt me.”

Moving ever closer, I wrap my arms around him. Holding him against me while he fights whatever it is that wants him to attack me.

I knew that during the blood moon his pack lost their minds and became almost feral, but even despite that, and despite being a lycan, one of the creatures that feels much more and whose instincts are much sharper, he continues to not do anything to hurt me.
