Chapter Fifty-Six (Isla)

Alec and Thane walked ahead of us as we headed to the dining hall.

“Are you sure about bringing me?” I questioned, remembering how divided the pack had been earlier in the courtyard. Half wanted me dead and the other, well, I’m not exactly sure what they wanted. I wasn’t sure if I was up for dealing with a bunch of bitchy wolves.

“I promise no one will hurt you.” He answered, holding my hand, “or they’ll have to deal with me.” He finished in barely a whisper.

The dining hall overflowed with wolves as Anders led me to his table at the head of the room. Alec and Thane had already sat down.

I hate being stared at. I thought as eyes turned to look at me, different variations of emotions lining their faces. Some looked welcoming. Others did not, especially the young females of the pack. After I sat down, I looked at the room and the paintings on the walls, not wanting to meet the gazes I could feel piercing my body.
