Chapter Sixteen (Thane)

I was furious. I followed my brother out of the room and to his office. He had barely sat down when I scolded him. "How could you do that to her? She’s been through hell!" Not to mention he obviously liked her. Why is he being so stubborn?

“She is a hybrid. You should be happy I didn’t just let her die.” Alpha Anders warned. “Once we meet with the elders, we will figure out what to do with her.”

“The elders will just order her killed like every other hybrid or non-wolf mate.” I argued. Remembering how just two months ago my father had executed a wolf and her human mate just because they wouldn’t reject each other. That wolf had been my best friend, and I was still bitter about it. My father could be a cruel and uncaring man. I believed when he lost my mother, it broke something in him.
