My eyelashes fluttered, as I opened my eyes to the sweet singing of birds and the sunlight which illuminated in my bedroom. Yawning, I turned over and rubbed my eyes sleepily, then stretched out my muscles, and yawned once more. I had been having a beautiful dream where I didn’t have to flee from Marcel McClain, and I smiled, knowing that it wasn’t actually a dream. It was reality, as in this town, ruthless werewolves like Marcel could not show up their ugly faces, trying to stir up trouble.

At first, it had been hard to settle down, and even though I didn’t show it, I was terribly scared of what would happen to me should Marcel ever find out of our whereabouts, and it was even more scary when I learnt that he had become the Alpha of all Alphas. Now, he had control over every pack that existed, and it would be easy for him to find Liam and myself as a means to get revenge on me for rejecting him as my mate in public, but so far, life had practically been so good to us.
