Chapter 71

KEENA

Ward and I are laying on his bed in nothing but our underwear talking about anything and everything that comes to our minds. I am shocked at how much Ward knows about me and I am angry at myself for how little I know about him. But I guess I have a lifetime in order to get to know everything that there is to know about him.

We are in the middle of a tickle fight when Ward's phone begins to vibrate loudly on the bedside table.

"Time out," Ward says jokingly as he looks at the screen of his phone. He lets out a frustrated groan when he sees that it is his father calling.

"Hello," he answers the phone gruffly.

"I thought you weren't leaving until next week?" He asks after a short pause.

I strain my ears trying to hear the other end of the conversation but it is impossible. So I lay back on the bed and tap my fingers on my stomach impatiently while he finishes his conversation with his father.

"I will come," he finally says. "But I am bringing Keena with me."
