The next day was a flurry of activity.

It felt good to have Arnou on my side, he was an effective worker. Much better than Eden, who used to leave all the tedious work for me.

When I woke up sometime in the late morning, Arnou was already up and working. I had watched him for a while before he noticed I was awake.

The pain this morning was better. At least I could be touched, but only lightly.

Arnou had stood beside me like some guard or soldier to make sure everything went well.

He had tasted every food and even the water I drank.

I had protested, I mean if it was really poisoned I didn't want him falling sick.

He had brushed off my concerns and adamantly tasted all my food items and made me wait five minutes before eating.

It was really cute watching him get bothered like that.
