Chapter 82: Help

“Taken?!” Ana’s uncle shouted.

It had been a whole day since Ana had disappeared. I had been passed out for most of it. Shane had hit me harder than I thought and while the wound heal quickly, the damage he had done to my head took longer to fix. Daphne had me patched up though and taken care of me, before we went to go see Ana’s family. They had quickly seen the look on my face and known something horrible was wrong. Now we were in her uncle’s office with her cousin and aunt there too, plus a good handful of warriors from the pack. We were going to need a lot of help if we were going to get my mate back.

“Yes…”

I looked down, feeling ashamed I couldn’t keep my mate safe. I had promised her uncle, and I had failed…

“By who?” Jackson asked.

He looked like a fucking mess. It seemed like Daphne running from him had really destroyed him. I had at least been focused on getting Ana back, but Jackson seemed to already feel like the fight was over.
