“Earnshaw, I won’t even ask, I won’t even waste time telling you what I want, just get straight to the point and start explaining everything,” Brenda said the moment she stormed into the living room and saw Lucas.“You came later than I expected,” Lucas remarked calmly from the portable bar at the corner of the room.“My dad didn’t allow me to leave until the chauffeur was ready, he said I wasn’t allowed to drive when I was so enraged.” She replied to his surprise and perched on a couch, facing him with demanding eyes.A maid walked in at that moment and her face went white when she saw Brenda. For a week, Lucas didn’t hear from Brenda and she didn’t come to visit either. In the space of that week, his bond with Riley only grew stronger and even Dolph was wondering if Riley had replaced Brenda. Riley was excited, she enjoyed the attention she was receiving from Lucas and the reception from Dolph. She started seeing little of him as he got more busy and engrossed at the Pack office and more than once it had been just her and Lucas in the house.Everything was going smoothly for her, the fact that she saw little or nothing or Brenda made it even better. Riley and Lucas’s love story went on for a few more days. Riley was happy, this was the best time of her life but it was going to take a drastic turn soon.One day, they had sex in Lucas’s bedroom at night and Riley collapsed on top of him, breathing heavily and with satisfaction. Lucas stared at Dolph who stared back with hesitant eyes.“Go bring her,” Lucas said.Dolph grimaced, “Oh common, Lucas, don’t send me to undertake this gruesome task.”“Go bring her, you wimp.” Lucas snarled and Dolph got to his feet.“Sure, Lucas, way to go for always leaving me with the herculean tasks.” He said and walked out of the study.He walked into the living room just in time to see her coming in through the front door. Riley avoided Lucas for the rest of the day until she heard his car pull out of the driveway, it was the limousine and he was on his way with Brenda by his side. Although she felt hurt and knew she would always be second as long as Brenda was still here, she accepted the truth and she had said it to him herself. She was just his maid, his maid that was in love with him but apparently could never have a permanent place with him. Did it piss Riley off? Yes, very much, but she had some faith in what Lucas had said to her, he had assured her that he would work something out and she trusted him. She didn't have what to do, as long as Lucas wasn't in the pack, she was free to laze around, not until Dolph showed up later. "Oh, my fucking back!" He exclaimed as he walked into the living room. Her face turned ashen as she stared up at the doctor, the only question she could ask was, "How far gone?" He looked at her, wondering why she wasn't excited to hear the news, "Is everything alright, miss?""Doctor! Please!" She exclaimed, startling him. "How far gone?" "A week or so." He said. She sat up and ran her fingers through her long, sleek hair. "Oh no! Oh no, no, no, no!" She mumbled, her heart thumping violently against her ribs. This was bad, very bad, there was no other person she could be pregnant for but Lucas. What was she going to do? Could she even say this to him? When he was already engaged to Brenda? This was terrible news, the worst news possible! If she told Lucas this, it would shatter everything he had built up with Brenda and might even smear his reputation. She was a fool not to have been more careful, each time they had sex, he had released into her.
