Chapter 27: Wake up!
Grace opened her eyes and found herself blinking against the harsh light.
“It is alright Grace, you are in hospital. Can you hear me?” A friendly Nurse asked.
“Yes!" Grace said with a sore throat.
“That is very good Grace. Tell me can you feel me doing this on your toes!” A Doctor with grey hair and glasses said as he pricked her toes.
“Oww yes, Doctor! Please rest assured all of my nervous systems is fully operational!” Grace moaned.
“Ah, I forgot you are a Doctor, Nurse Smith can you please give her a drink. I am Doctor Reed, and we have been looking after you. You came in with substantial injuries including a punctured lung, broken arm and bleeding on the brain. We operated to reduce the pressure and fixed you up!” Doctor Reed explained whilst Grace sipped some water.
“Hang on why is my arm not in a cast?” Grace said.
“You been in a coma for 3 months Dr Evans!" Nurse Smith said gently.
