CHAPTER 38

I beamed at him ear to ear. His memory has been restored.

I'm offended he hid it from me. But I had done this too in the past. We're a family. We care for each other. But we hardly use words to express ourselves. My husband is at the top of the list. He rarely explains what he feels. I always consider him a strong personality. He is. There's no doubt but he also gets tired of everything.

His phone began to ring, breaking the spell. I pulled my head back gazing up at him. He was already scowling at the display.

His look said it was not something he was expecting.

When he didn't answer the call, his phone beeped. Footfalls echoed in the glass house. With his clenched jaw, he got on his feet, taking me along with him.

I stepped back, my hands still curled around his shoulders. Abruptly, my heart began to pound in my chest. I could feel something bad coming. But I couldn't spoil the moment by bringing it out of my mouth.
