Mikael’s POV

As soon as Alicia left the office i pulled my arm from Ghalia’s hold, as though I’d gotten my hand out of a bear trap.

“What are you doing here Ghalia?” I demanded, repeating my previous question to her, but this time, without the pressure of Alicia’s presence.

She sighed, “What do you think I’m doing here? I can’t to see you, Mikael… my love.”

My face twitched. My love? After so many years she still dares to call me that?

“You dare say that?”

“Yes! I dare because I haven’t stopped thinking about you. I heard you were in town. Wouldn’t you have wanted to see me if our roles were reversed?”
