Annie was standing at the entrance door pacing around as I returned home. The moment she sighted me, she rushed up to me. One look at my face was enough for her to understand things didn't turn out well. She wrapped her arms around me and pulled me into a hug. "I'm sorry." She whispered.

I stood there like an ice block, recalling all the bitter memories. I thought there was still hope. I don't know why Angelo was doing what he was doing, but I was done chasing him. I was done holding up to hope. "It's over, Annie." I finally confessed.

"I'm now convinced that Angelo doesn't want me back. It's over between us. We-" I choked at my words, feeling my heart breaking at the memories.
