Mia’s pov

As soon as the door closed in our faces, I felt myself tense up in Lorenzo’s arms, making it almost hard for me to breathe as we began to walk towards his car until he dropped his hand.

I was looking at everywhere but at him, while wondering if I had overstepped in there, not knowing how Lorenzo actually felt about the girl, and if he had liked that I had gotten into a fight with that Lily girl.

After a few moments, I blurted out the next words that came to mind.

“I wasn’t the one who started the fight.”

Lorenzo remained silent after that, and the only indication that he had indeed heard what I had said was the little arch of his eyebrow as he regarded me with a flat look, which made me avert my gaze.

“I wasn’t the one who hit her first, or—” I continued after a few seconds because I couldn’t stop the words from coming forth, but the words died on my tongue when Lorenzo abruptly stopped walking.
