“Didn’t you see a small pink-colored note kept under a vase in your makeup room?” Weylin asked, muddled.

“No.” Garaine shrugged her shoulders.

“Did you check the table?” Weylin repeated anxiously. “The note mentioned that I would go to the USA because of an urgent matter and will explain everything once I’m back.”

“There was no note, Mr. Turner.”

“That’s strange!” Weylin’s eyebrows were knitted into a deep frown. “I gave the maid the note and saw her putting it under the vase. How could that disappear?”

“Is she a permanent maid of the Turner mansion?” She wanted to know. She already suspected foul play.

“I think so,” Weylin replied, thinking deeply. “It looks like someone intentionally removed the note from its place to create a misunderstanding between us.” His gaze grew darker. “Who the heck tried to come between us!?”

“Mr. Turner, let's forget the past,” Garaine smiled gently, masking her doubts. Getting angry would only deteriorate his health which she didn't want at any cost
