The Offer

"Listen, I have a job for you. A permanent one, with a good salary and way better than your current job." He said without beating around the bush.

"Sounds promising." I replied and he tilted his head.

"Become my personal assistant and I'll triple your current salary." Mr Martinez said and my eyes widened in shock.

"I would love to take it, but..."

"Spit it out kid."

"I have to do two more jobs." I said miserably.

"Who do you work for? Seems like he has quite the impact on you." He said in a voice of realisation.

"Louis Valentino." I said carefully and Mr Martinez' eyebrows raised.

"I see. And now it all makes sense. Look I know you're in a tight spot right now so I won't put any pressure on you." He said kindly and I nodded. "Take your time darling."

"Thank you." I said with a small smile on my face. I can tell that Mr Martinez truly wants to help me and that he cares. My own father didn't even care about me this much.
