The Secret

"The target is in position." I heard a sudden voice through my earpiece. "Do not engage with the target." The voice came again but I was tempted.

I sucked in a deep breath and walked out of the small cafe, I heard a loud shot behind me and the dropping of a body. Armando Morales. I kept walking when I heard people's screams all around me. I'm ashamed of such cowardice.

This was the worst part of my job. I lured strangers out into the open, knowing that they would die in less than an hour of meeting me. And for what? I don't even know why they had to die.

All these men seemed to hold something valuable of Louis Valentino and nobody knew what it was. It was his secret and nobody else's. All of the information I found, I knew nothing of it. I wasn't allowed to know. I just brought the packages back to him. Untouched and unseen.

I climbed into the van parked around the corner and broke down. I sobbed loudly and tried to catch my breath.
