Chapter Eighty Eight

Present day:

Words failed Soralina as she sat there with Agatha's limp body in her arms, feeling numb all over. It has been only thirty seconds since Agatha passed away, but to Soralina it feels like decades, centuries, as she feels the bond between then being severed, detached, removed.

Above her she can hear the echoes of the battle which is soon coming to an end, with one side only alive now to be the victor. And a part of her already knows who it is.

Slowly but surely, Soralina gently places Agatha's head down in the hard rock floor, brushing her stray hairs from her face as she sucks in a deep breath, willing herself to move and not start crying again.

"Goodbye, my other half." Soralina said, feeling her usual excited heart beating now being just a mere thudding in the chest, just like every normal human being. Because the one that held that excitement in her heart, is now gone.
