Chapter Seventy Three

“And then, he suddenly barges into the driveway and I’m like, ‘Louise what the fuck? What are you doing here?’ Then he pulls out you tattered bloody body from the back seat and I almost get a heart attack.” Mario narrates the story, which only makes Agatha chuckle as she chews on her pan cake, sitting on a stool on the island.

Louise walks in on them, having finished showering after coming from his short run before he sits down beside Agatha. To her shock, he leans forward and kisses the top of her hairs, startling her at the contact. When she looks at him, he pretends like nothing is amiss and instead joins in on Mario’s conversation.

“Stop exaggerating Mario. You didn’t look that surprised. You have seen your fair share of blood.” Agatha doesn’t even want to know what he means by that.

Mario frowns, dropping the spatula down on the island. “You did not have to say that in front of her, I was trying to keep a good image.”
