Chapter 2

Rewind to 6 months ago. I had just come into the security suite from my shift and was waiting in line to gun down. Then I felt something strong like a dominating presence fill the room. I have a pretty big personality and presence of my own so this is a feeling I am not used to feeling. I look around to find out who was giving off such a dominant vibe. Then I saw him, 6 feet tall, iron clad in his security uniform hugging every beautiful muscle on his body. My eyes traveled up his body, he had a strong chest, and broad shoulders. His uniform shirt sleeves stretched tightly over his biceps that screamed to be touched. My mouth watered as my eyes continued to devour the man standing not 10 feet from me. His jaw was chiseled to perfection, he had a slightly crooked nose from being broken in the past, I have no doubt, and a faded haircut. His face was stone serious and as I met the most beautifully colored brown eyes I had to turn away. Heat that I hadn't felt in a very long time began to pool in my stomach. This was the sexiest man I had ever seen. I dropped my gaze to find a wedding ring tattooed on his finger. Fuck. Stay far away he is going to be trouble for you, I thought to myself.

Fast forward back to the present. There was 189 standing in front of me holding my jacket. I had successfully avoided this man for 6 months. He never caught me looking at him and I made sure to never cross paths with him. I had never spoken a word to him and I was about to have to come face to face with him. I was trying to calm myself telling my self to be cool as I walked up to him. My body responded to him immediately. What the hell, I thought rolling my eyes at my self.

As soon as I was standing in front of him he said,

"You left this in the back of the Tahoe."

"Oh, well thank you, you saved my life! I'm on my way Missouri tonight and it's freezing up there." I grabbed my jacket and practically ran out the door hating myself for the word vomit that just came out of my mouth. Why did it have to be him?

I got in my car in the parking lot. DING! My phone alerted me to a F******k notification. "Keith Stone has sent you a friend request." Who the fuck, I thought to myself, the picture was grainy and I couldn't see who it was. All I could see was it was 2 men standing next to each other. Security was a predominantly male job so I was used to getting requests from random people from the casino, especially since changing my relationship status to single.

I'm not saying I'm god's gift to men but I'm not bad and the fact that I work security and carry a gun, men seem to find that attractive, and often try to friend me on F******k. I don't accept people I don't know so I clicked on this Keith Stone's profile and it was 189! Why was he sending me a friend request. He is married and I am no home wrecker. Maybe he is just adding security people I thought as I checked our mutual friends. Deciding this was the case I accepted his request. BING! my phone notified me of a F******k message this time. It was Keith.

What the fuck, did I forget something else, I wondered in confusion. How did he find me so fast anyways? I didn't even know his name until now. I opened the message thinking I had to have forgotten something else. The message had 2 words,

   "Why Missouri?"

"My family has a cattle ranch up there. I go twice a year to help work cattle." I waited for him to message back, wondering why he was asking me, and better yet why did I answer him. I didn't owe him any explanation, but I did over share earlier, so maybe this was my fault. He never messaged me back so I drove to go get my 3 kids and started my trip.
