Chapter 1
"Amy, you are working travel plaza tonight."I was overjoyed to hear this as it was a Friday night in November. Getting closer to Thanksgiving and the Casino gets crazier and crazier. Normally I wouldn't have minded the hustle of the weekend in security at one of the biggest casinos in Oklahoma, but tonight after I got off, I was picking up my kids from my toxic ex, and heading to Missouri. The family ranch was in Missouri and I was going to work cows before the holiday. I wouldn't have to deal with all the annoying chatter on the radio and the drunken guests forgetting how to act in public. TP (travel plaza) tonight was just what I needed before the 8 hour drive north. I gathered my stuff that I would need for my shift and checked out the keys for the Tahoe I would be driving to the TP. When I arrived I checked in with the cashier.   "Hey Stacy," I greeted one of my favorite cashiers. She was a lot like me, and we spent our work time together talki

Chapter 2
Rewind to 6 months ago. I had just come into the security suite from my shift and was waiting in line to gun down. Then I felt something strong like a dominating presence fill the room. I have a pretty big personality and presence of my own so this is a feeling I am not used to feeling. I look around to find out who was giving off such a dominant vibe. Then I saw him, 6 feet tall, iron clad in his security uniform hugging every beautiful muscle on his body. My eyes traveled up his body, he had a strong chest, and broad shoulders. His uniform shirt sleeves stretched tightly over his biceps that screamed to be touched. My mouth watered as my eyes continued to devour the man standing not 10 feet from me. His jaw was chiseled to perfection, he had a slightly crooked nose from being broken in the past, I have no doubt, and a faded haircut. His face was stone serious and as I met the most beautifully colored brown eyes I had to turn away. Heat that I hadn't felt in a ve

Chapter 3
"10 hours later I arrived at the ranch. I said hello to my Mom. I hadn't seen her since spring break but it wasn't time to socialize. I wasn't able to get off work the day before so the boys were already down at the corral with the cows. I had been up for close to 24 hours at this point but there was work to be done. As we got the bulk of the herd finished, I started snapping pictures of the boys wrestling calves, tagging them and giving them their shots. When we were finished it was time to gather the kids up. We played ball with the kids while mom finished up dinner. We sat around catching up and playing games and I posted the photos from the day. Finally I snuck off to get a shower and hopefully fall into blissful sleep.    Just as I was about to step into a steamy shower that was probably too hot but I didn't care, because my body craved the heat, DING! Almost crying because I needed the shower to relax my tired overworked body I grabbed my phon

Chapter 4
Monday afternoon I walk in to work. Weekdays at the Casino are slow. I did the mundane busy work I was called to do. The rest of the week followed the same pace. Wake up, get kids to school or fed, nap, shower, back to work. I had not heard from Keith since Sunday when I left him on read, except for an invite to a private group he created for the security crew.   I accepted the invite to the group. As expected, being a predominantly male environment, their were crude jokes, tit pics, and locker room jokes and talk. I read comments and noticed the anger growing in the pit of my stomach everytime Keith commented on something referring to other females. Again I had to remind myself he wasn't mine. I could not feel possessive of someone I couldn't have.   It was near the end of December, things with Keith hadn't changed. It seemed as if his interest in me, whatever it was had faded, I was fine with that. As I said before I definitely didn't n

Chapter 5
I got to work Friday and I was training Karen again.   "Why me?" I pouted to myself.   "Amy!" my Corporal called out to me.I turned around with my eyebrows raised in waiting, showing my disdain for having to drag Karen around with me on a Friday night.   "Can you both do 4 hours overtime tonight for the concert? Karen, you need the training and Amy you have been asking for overtime." he tells us.I look at Karen hoping she says no, knowing I can't turn down the hours if I want to get out of my exes house. To my horror she agrees.I called dispatch informing them I was with 178 again and all calls would be for her.   "It's all you today!" I inform her, "I am only here to help if you get stuck."   "Um, ok, do I need to tell dispatch we are available? " She asks.   "Yes. " I tell her.She keys up her radio, "Um, ok, like, um dispatch, um hold on?" She stares at me wide e

Chapter 6
Later that night after the concert was over I was guarding a T-shirt booth as they closed down. I felt Keith again. I looked up and locked eyes with him as he crossed the balcony of the theatre. This time I did not drop my eyes. I was searching his face for answers to all my questions about him. His eyes seemed to call to me. I felt as if some answers would be answered soon. After I was released from my shift I walked in to the security suite to gun down. Keith was in there working on a report from earlier in the evening. As I was getting ready to walk out the door he jumps up from his seat.   "Do you smoke?" he asks.   "Yes" I tell him knowing it's my one habit I can't kick. He walks outside with me. we light up and blow smoke out in the cold silence of the night.   "How was your night?" he asked.I laughed. I told him about Karen and the guy who thought he could charm me with his dick in his hand. He lis

Chapter 7
I started seeing Keith every night when I was leaving work. He made sure he said something to me in passing. It was always a quick "hello" or "how was your night," just very small acknowledgements. On my last night of 2nd shift it was new years eve. My shift ended at 11. We always beefed up security on new years because of all the drinking and partying.I was on a call that took me until 1130 to finish. The night was crazy and I was tired, angry, and ready to leave. I got out right at midnight and I blew right past Keith without even a backward glance. I was pissed off and just ready to get the hell away from that place. DING!My phone goes off. I grab it and look at the message. It's Keith."Are you OK?""I'm fine!" I bite back at him."You don't seem fine you didn't even look at me when you stormed out of the building. I was waiting for you." he wrote back."Why were you waiting for me?" I asked him."I got used to talkin

Chapter 8
It is my first night of 3rd shift tonight and I walk in already regretting my first meeting with Keith since our last conversation. It is a Friday night and so I grab a schedule and head out to my first hour on the floor. I feel relieved getting out before I see Keith. My first hour is full of chip fills and card transfers so it goes by way too fast. My next post is parking garage escalators. I am walking the corridor when I hear a fight break out in the country bar. Keith is dealing with a woman who is trying to fight everyone so she can go back with the band. Keith is stopping her.    I walk over to the bar because it is a woman he is dealing with and I am already close by. I walk into bar and find 216 escorting the woman to the front of the bar. I walk to the front with him. I am waiting with the woman while 216 explains what happened to the Casino Manager. One of the bar hostesses calls me over informing me that the guest has a $1300 tab that

Chapter 9
I get to the Security Suite. I walk in and find my Sergeant and a casino manager standing there waiting for me. Fuck, I might be in trouble I think to myself.   "Amy" the casino manager says to me, "Thank you for handling that situation the way you did. We need more people like you who can handle a high stress situation like that, and get it out of the sight of the guests as quickly as you did! With that being said, there is audio and video surveillance in the interview rooms. Please try to refrain from calling guests fucking cunts." He finishes laughing at me.    "I didn't even realize I did that, I will try to watch what I say in the future. Thank you!" I replied back.   "We need your report on the incident as soon as possible," my Sergeant informs me.   "I will do it right now, if you can rearrange my next post." I tell him.    "128 will switch with you, When you finsh
