The Man I Never Knew I Needed Prologue
One failed marriage, and a failed relationship with an accidental pregnancy, Amy Knight is focused on her job in security at one of the largest casinos in Oklahoma. She has been there a year already and has found the job fits her well. No need to get made up, or pretend to be something she is not. She is there to make money, and try to save as much as possible to get herself, and her children away from her toxic ex. Amy is determined to be an independent, strong mother and woman for her kids, and show her son, and her daughters how to be good people, and they don't have to stay in a bad situation forever. She has done well separating herself from the toxic relationship that plagued her for 3 years prior, and she is content with where she is. One night in June something happens that will start a change for Amy and her kids. Little does she know her content life she is leading is about to be turned upside down.

"Amy, you are working travel plaza tonight."I was overjoyed to hear this as it was a Friday night in November. Getting closer to Thanksgiving and the Casino gets crazier and crazier. Normally I wouldn't have minded the hustle of the weekend in security at one of the biggest casinos in Oklahoma, but tonight after I got off, I was picking up my kids from my toxic ex, and heading to Missouri. The family ranch was in Missouri and I was going to work cows before the holiday. Rewind to 6 months ago. I had just come into the security suite from my shift and was waiting in line to gun down. Then I felt something strong like a dominating presence fill the room. I have a pretty big personality and presence of my own so this is a feeling I am not used to feeling. I look around to find out who was giving off such a dominant vibe. "10 hours later I arrived at the ranch. I said hello to my Mom. I hadn't seen her since spring break but it wasn't time to socialize. I wasn't able to get off work the day before so the boys were already down at the corral with the cows. I had been up for close to 24 hours at this point but there was work to be done. Monday afternoon I walk in to work. Weekdays at the Casino are slow. I did the mundane busy work I was called to do. The rest of the week followed the same pace. I started seeing Keith every night when I was leaving work. He made sure he said something to me in passing. It was always a quick "hello" or "how was your night," just very small acknowledgements.
