20. Home Sick

"I won't be coming in today." I informed him.

"What? Why not?"

"I'm just not feeling that well. I think it would be best to work from home today."

"Are you sure? Is there anything I can get you? If you tell me where you are, I can drop off some of my nana's homemade soup. It's the ultimate feel-good dish."

"Thanks, Zach. But no, it's ok. I think I'm just overtired. I've been working on these plans for a while now, and I guess it just caught up with me."

"Ok. If you're sure, just remember you can call me whenever. I'll be there right away if you need."

"Thanks, Zach, but no, I'm ok. I'll be fine." I replied.

Zach disconnected the call a moment later.

"Mam?" The cabbie quipped, looking at me.

"Can you take me back to the condo? But can you take me to the back entrance instead?"

The cabbie nodded his head, and a few moments later, we were pulling up to the back of my condo unit. Just like when I was at the office, I felt a sense of dread come over me. Part of me didn't want to go inside
