25. A Fresh Start

I was happy that Zach was gone when I left Damian's office. I wanted to talk to Damian without anyone judging me for doing so. I knew Zach probably wouldn't. But he would have his own thoughts about what we were going to talk about. I just didn't want to deal with any of that.

I smiled as I saw Damian sitting in Zane's chair. Zane had gone back to Europe a while ago and probably wouldn't be back for at least a couple of months. So in the meantime, his office was free to use. However, I didn't want Damian to feel like he had to keep his distance from me. Rather, I would prefer to work together like we should've done from the start.

Damian didn't seem to notice me at first as I watched him by the door. However, he must've noticed my presence somehow, as I saw him look up with a giant smile on his face. His smile was quickly replaced with a look of fear and apprehension.

"You didn't like the office, did you." Damian remarked timidly.

"Damian." I called out.<
