"I made your favourite," Maria said, placing the dish on the table. Emma didn't look so interested, her thoughts were occupied. Maria and Helen had been doing everything they could to cheer Emma but it didn't seem to be working.

"You know you can just call him if you miss him this much? Or send a text," Helen said, dishing her food.

"I am fine," Emma said, dishing a small portion in her plate.

"you don't look fine dear."

Emma looked like all the joy and any form of happiness had been sucked out of her. Maria hated seeing her that way. Emma was the one who made jokes when everyone was sad, the one who cheered everyone up and made sure everyone was okay.

"I will be fine," Emma said. "Let's talk about Helen," Emma said, turning to Helen.

"What about me? You can't keep changing conversations everytime, you know."

Emma forced out a smile.

"That's true. What about the designs you wanted to show your boss?" her mum asked.

"She hasn't checked it out yet. She said she doesn't have the time ye
