Chapter Twenty
Illusions:
Gavin had left Chris and made his way up to the helm. Jason was deep in thought concentrating on the ocean. Gavin approached him frustrated. Jason raised an eyebrow at him as if to ask what was wrong. Gavin took a deep breath in.
"She was right." Gavin said to Jason in one exhale.
Jason looked at him confused. Gavin took a step closer and lowered his voice.
" Morgan. She's right about Chris. He tried to steal the map and somehow planted poison on Morgan. He's somehow aligned with Travis." Gavin explained, his stomach feeling like it was burning at the mention of Travis's name.

The Sunflower Inn: Morgan didn't look back; the pull to stay was too strong. Claire clung to her hand as she made it into the city. It was a small fishing community she noted as she walked by several stands set up by the dock. The men eyed them curiously. She ignored them as they ventured further. The town opened up into a small market. She thought it was a little strange how it went straight to selling things but if people were new you wanted them to start buying and trading right away; why not Morgan thought. "Fresh fruit!"a woman called out to them. Claire looked at her letting her know she was hungry. Morgan nodded and headed over to the fruit stand. "Go on, which ones do you want?" Morgan said to Claire scooting her up to the stand.
The Morning Star Chapter Twenty-Three
Taken: Robbie leads Claire and Morgan through the small kitchen. They weaved in out of random supplies. Sacks of rice, potatoes, and flour laid out on the floor as the girls followed Robbie. In the very back of the kitchen was a door that led to the outside. They walked through it. Outside the sun was setting and the sky had a warm glow. Even though they were in town you could still feel the sea in the air. Walking out the back door of the inn you faced an old red barn. Robbie led the girls to it. Captive: Gavin turned on his heel and raced back to The Morning Star. Jacob, Jason, Thomas, and Alan were running towards him. "Get to the Star!" Gavin yelled at them as he ran towards them. The men stopped looking at him confused. They glanced at one another trying to understand what Gavin yelled. "The Star! Get to the ship!" He yelled again. Jason heard him this time. Begin Again: Gavin's feet touch the wooden floor of the Morning Star. He had planned to carry her to the cabin but Claire came rushing at them. He smiled and set Morgan down. Claire jumped into her arms. Morgan flinched from the pain in her shoulder but she ignored it, squeezing Claire tight. "Morgan I'm so happy they got you back." Claire said, squeezing her. "I was so scared I wouldn't see you again." Claire whispered. Morgan pulled back slightly to see Claire's face. She cupped her hands around her fscr. Morgan stood in front of the kitchen sink staring out the window. She watched the waves crash on the cliffs below. Gavin had built a house for them overlooking the sea. Morgan was in a bit of trance watching the waves break. A loud noise coming down the stairs drew her attention. Gavin dropped his baggage loudly on the wooden floor. Morgan sighed slightly. Gavin smiled brightly to her and closed the distances between. His hand wrapped around her waist as he pulled her back against him. She leaned into him, sighing happily. He leaned down into her neck placing small kisses in the crease of it. “I have a few minutes.”He mumbled into her skin. She giggled slightly and turned in his arms. Her hand went to his cheek. He leaned into her touch. “Aye but you need those minutes to get your butt down to the ship.” She smil
