“ Where the hell have you been? How could you even take supplies!” Theresa yelled at Sapphire as she finally joined us in the bush path where we were waiting for her.

“ It doesn’t help that you’re yelling mom,” Sapphire said dryly before she joined us in the car. She sat beside me and her hands lightly brushed mine, making me shocked at how cold her body was. Even her breathing was uneven. She was afraid and tense but she didn’t look it.
