Chapter 24. Saving Her

Evangeline's eyes opened slowly, although she still felt dizzy. She looked to the side and saw Dr. Edgar Vandross checking the IV drips.

"Doctor?" Eva said it in a weak voice. Dr. Vandross turned to her and took a deep sigh.

“What have you done, Miss Alexander? You ran away from the hospital and ended up collapsing on the street. If we don't find you, who knows what will happen to you?" said Doctor Vandross as if he were scolding Eva. Eva just kept quiet, trying to remember what had happened. Finally, she remembered that she was trying to go to the minimart where she worked.

“So I didn't make it there? I must be fired." She said it with a sad expression.

“Do you want to go to work in a state like this? Miss Alexander, you just passed your critical period in a special ER room two nights ago. You are not physically fit to work. I can't even let you go home yet. Moreover, now the test results show that you are anemic, and I'm still studying
