Chapter 38

Vinny

I needed a drink. I picked up my phone to call Sean, frowning when I remembered that he was still radio silent. I scrolled up my contact list and hovered over Roman’s name. After a moment of uncertain hesitation I scrolled up to Luca’s name and tapped the call button.

The bar was pumping when I arrived. Everyone in town appeared to be here and it wasn’t even a full moon. I grinned as I found Luca and his twin brother Milo, who were already starting the shots with some friends from school, including (to my distaste) Murdoch.

I didn’t need to wonder if Roman had broken things off with Murdoch, it was evident she hadn’t. She was occupying a booth with a mob of she-wolves and deep in conversation unaware that Murdoch was furtively leering at her. Every time her laugh echoed above the rest; he looked over at her in a way that made my hackles rise.
