Chapter 2: Four Years Later

Kassandra's POV:

It has been four years of hell since my parents passed away and people are astonished that I am still alive without my wolf. They think i am weak. 

Today is my 18th birthday and I am hoping I can find my mate and since highschool is almost over I am debating if I want to run away and live as a lone wolf in the human city. 

For the past four years I have snuck out of the pack house everynight to let my wolf out and train so I am not weak. I also learned recently that alphas commands don't work on me which has me puzzled. 

I haven't had a dream of that beautiful woman who I think is the moon goddess since that night 4 years ago, But i have kept her words in my heart. I just hope that my mate is not in this pack. I finally finished getting ready in a hand me down dress and my chuck taylors and went down and made breakfast for the pack, grabbed an apple and headed to school. 

When I got to school I almost ran into Ava but quickly turned around and headed the other way but before I could I heard Ava yell "Are you supposed to look cute in that, well you dont you look like a human whore." 

Before I knew what was happening she pushed me to the ground and her and her click started hitting me. 

I was so used to it I didn't even make a sound and that just pissed her off even more, Then i just pretended to pass out so they would leave me alone and it worked because they walked away.

Today was the day that I vowed that I was leaving and was going to never come back. I said to Nova my wolf and she agreed. 

School felt like it lasted longer and when it was over I went to the pack house and made dinner and decided not to eat and was headed to my room when I smelt the most amazing smell .

The words my wolf said scared me "MATE" 

Before I could run, Daniel walked up to me and said words that I never thought my mate would ever say. 

"I Daniel waggner future alpha of the red river pack reject you Kassandra knight as my mate " and what i said shocked him " I Kassandra Knight accept your rejection and wish you to never find a second chance mate"

I left him standing there shocked i guess he thought that i would die from his rejection but i am stronger than anyone knows. 

I packed my things and grabbed my phone and the money i had hidden in my room and before i left i left a note on the bed for whoever found it that said " i am sorry for being a burden and that since school was over and i no longer was needed i was leaving to find who actually killed my parents and to tell my mate i hate him and would never love him in this life or the next" and with that i jumped out of my window and ran through the trees to the nearest city. 

While running i saw a lake and stopped and got a drink and asked nova if she was ok and she told me she didnt want him as my mate and she is ok and happy we are finally gone.

                      

                                       Daniel's POV:

Yesterday was my 18th birthday and I decided not to stay in the pack tonight and I wasn't going to school. It was the last day and I already knew I graduated. 

I got back to the pack and school was still going so i went to my room and waited for Ava to get home and when she did she came to my room and we watched movies for an hour.

Something hit my nose and it smelled lovely so i told Ava i would be right back i was gonna go get something to drink and i left my room. 

As i was walking i saw the last person that i thought it would be Kassandra went to turn around and leave but before she could i stopped her and said the last thing i ever would i said

“ I Daniel Waggner, future alpha of the red river pack, reject Kassandra Knight as my mate.” 

But what surprised me is she looked me in the eyes and said “ I Kassandra Knight accept your rejection and wish you to never find a second chance mate" 

Then she walked to her room and didn't even flinch like it didn't even hurt her so i followed her and what I saw her do next scared me because she didn't have a wolf or we thought she didn't. She jumped out of the third story window and disappeared forever.

As I was leaving I saw a note on her bed and I read it. " i am sorry for being a burden and that since school was over and i no longer was needed i was leaving to find who actually killed my parents and to tell my mate i hate him and would never love him in this life or the next"   

This made my wolf whimper and i just wanted to be alone hoping Ava left while i was gone but when i got to my room she was laying on my mbed naked and i sighed and told her to please leave. 

When she didn't leave I grabbed her clothes and threw them out of my room and she followed. 

I layed on my bed with the note and fell asleep.
