I was very disconcerted and disturbed as I left Conan at the park. After listening to his reason for the declaration he made, my anger at the decision had eased a little. And when I found that he had also regretted doing what he did which made me think he still cared for me, I had wanted to spend more time with him. But I had an emergency patient at the hospital and I had no choice but to leave there alone. Maybe my eyes had been playing tricks on me, but I had seen the disappointed look on his face when I announced that I had to leave, and it made my heart soar.

Inside the cab, I texted him that we should meet up tonight after work. I got to the entrance of the hospital and noticed some strange cars and some men in suits who appeared like a bodyguard. I ignored them and paid the cab man and quickly ran into the hospital.

“Surprise!” The nurses all shouted in unison.
