Sergio waited until her breathing had calmed down slightly before entering her room, tiptoeing softly into the room, checking first to make sure that she was sleeping peacefully before turning the light switch off and leaving the room to go back to his own bed.

She had changed into her pyjamas earlier and had fallen asleep almost immediately after undressing. He lay in bed for a little longer, watching her sleeping form.

She looked so peaceful, so serene. He wondered how he could ever have considered giving her up. He had never felt anything like this in all his years of being alive.

He knew that she wasn't going to wake up anytime soon, so he decided to turn around and lie on his back, resting his hand under his chin and gazing at her, admiring her features.

As he gazed at her, his mind drifted back to that night on the hill. When he finally fell asleep, he dreamt of her. Dreams where he was the one lying next to her instead of her.
