Chapter 2

I arrived at the coffee shop where my friends and I are meeting, I glanced at the side view mirror of my car before going outside. I carry my purse and enter the cafe, I am greeted with a beautiful ambiance that eases my bad day a little bit.

I looked around and waved at my friends who were sitting three tables away from me, that's why I immediately approached them. I missed my friends so much, I'm glad they have time for me because if they didn't? I might have turned into a real psychopath.

Just kidding. I'm too beautiful to be a lunatic.

"Hey, Andrea. How are you?" Cassie asked me.

She's Cassie Madrigal, the only daughter of the Madrigal clan and like me she was the next CEO of Madrigal Corporation. She loves pets, reading books and even painting.

"It's been a long time, girl. Where have you been and you took so long?"

That was Madeline Wang, she's half Chinese and half American but she grew up in states. That's why she is not good at speaking their language. Did you even see a person who is not good at their own language?

"Yeah, Andy. I almost fell asleep while waiting."

And that impatient lady? She is Gaby, short for Gabriela Davis. She loves to party, get drunk all night and hook-up with some random guys at the bar, in short she's a total whore but I love her.

"I'm sorry if I keep you waiting, there's a man who was riding a motorcycle and hit my car. He didn't pay me, worst, he fed me the smoke that came from his polluted vehicle," I explained.

"How are you? Are you hurt or something?" Cassie asked and I could see in her eyes she was deadly worried.

In our group, we treat Cassie as our oldest sister except to the fact she's older than us. She's more mature and knows the difference between wrong and right, that's why she was loved by everyone.

Even us.

"I'm fine, don't worry. I'll deal with that man when our path crosses again, if that happens I promise I'm gonna punch him in the face."

"Speaking of man, was he cute?" Gaby was interested, I can see that.

I rolled my eyes because my friend was planning to hook that man up. She never changes.

"Why do you ask?"

"Nothing. Maybe I knew him and we already shared our thoughts in bed," she uttered as if that was completely normal.

"You know what, Gaby? I'm not surprised if you got HIV or any disease for hooking guys at the bar and left them like they're kind of a s*x toys."

Gaby shrugged at me, "Not a problem. I can cure myself because we have a money and I go back to the lifestyle I use to."

"Seriously? Do you even think about that? I thought you would say you're gonna change since that's enough lessons to wake you up, but I guess I'm wrong."

"Relax, Andy. I'm not getting it, doesn't mean I'm wh*re, I'm not thinking about my health. I pick a complete healthy man before having s*x with him," she replied.

"I'm not gonna talk," I sighed because if I continue talking to this girl, I might vomit.

"Have you order a drink?" Madeline asked me which I remember that I haven't ordered anything yet.

I stood up and excuse myself to order since I miss this place so much, I'm gonna order my favorite caramel latte. That was my favorite coffee, and nothing can change it.

"Hi, I am your bartender for today. What's your order?" The girl with such a sweet smile asked me.

"Hi, I want a medium size caramel latte with two pumps of caramel."

"Great, that will be $35."

"Here you go," I handed her my payment.

"What is your name, miss?"

"Andrea," I answered.

After telling the cashier what my name was, I headed back to our table and sat down beside Cassie. They are busy with their own lives, including me.

"Before I forgot the reason you called us, I wanted to know about that wedding you've been talking about, who's the groom by the way?" Gaby asked me while busy scrolling on her phone.

"I don't know and I don't care. My dad wants it, not me. So, I don't care who the man is because all I care about is how to stop my wedding as soon as possible."

I sighed when I remembered what my father had said as I arrived at his office. That's not the news I've been waiting for.

"Does your father know about your plan?"

"Pft, are you kidding me, Cassie? Of course he doesn't know because if he did? It might be the end of freedom, as in forever."

"What's with the against, Andy? Why don't you marry that guy? Maybe you two can get along after the wedding?" Madeline said like it's an easy deal to do.

I glare at her, "Really? Then, why don't you do it instead? I'm very pleased to exchange places with you if you want?" That's sarcasm and I knew she knew that.

Madeline just rolled her eyes and drank her matcha.

"Caramel latte for Miss Andrea!" The cashier shouted my beautiful name, and that's my sign to get my favorite coffee.

I happily went to the cashier and grabbed my coffee before turning around to head back to my girlfriends, but when I did that someone bumped into me. Unexpectedly.

My coffee filled into my shirt causing me to widen and gasp. That's my favorite shirt!

I immediately looked at the person who did that, and was surprised to see this annoying man again!

"You again?" We said in chorus.

"Are you stalking me?" I accuse him.

"What the hell, miss? I never stalked anyone, not even spoiled brats like you," he replied.

"How dare you! I let you insult me once but I am not gonna tolerate your bad behavior."

He smirked, "Are you going to ask me for another payment? Look, miss, my family had money. They can pay you as much as you."

Wait, is this man telling me to talk to his parents about my car damage? Wtf.

"Hey, young man. I don't need money from an annoying man like you, suck it to your lungs until you choke to death! You ruined my day and now you're here?! You're a freak!"

My blood was boiling just by looking at this man, he definitely doesn't have dreams in life. He didn't even look like one.

Our eyes were fighting as if we were killing each other in our minds. If my gaze can hurt him? Maybe he's already dead by now.

"Get out," I ordered.

He scoffs, "Excuse me, you don't own this cafe so you don't have the right to tell me to leave."

"I don't need to own this cafe because I can make you leave," I answer.

"Uh, Miss Andrea, we can replace y—"

"Shut up, I'm not talking to you," I said to the cashier who was about to interfere in our conversation.

He was glaring at me but I didn't care at all. I am Andrea Rodriguez, the only daughter of the Rodriguez empire. The well-known, wealthy, and influential family in America.

And no one can scare me off.

"Andrea?"

"Kalix?"

I looked at his back and my eyes almost popped out because of what I saw. He even turned to see why I became a mute, and like me his eyes widened.

I swallowed because my father was standing in front of us! Oh. My. Gosh!

"D-dad? What are you doing here? You are supposed to be in the office," I murmured.

"I am. But I have an important meeting with the Reagan's. What about you? What are you doing here with Kalix?" My father asked me.

I looked at him, confused, "You know him?" I pointed at the guy in front of me.

"Why wouldn't I? He's a young entrepreneur in the city, everyone dying to meet him. You didn't know him?"

"Of course I didn't know, how would I know?"

"Since you two are already here, why don't you meet each other?" The lady in a purple dress said, she's gorgeous.

"W-what do you mean?" I asked her.

"Andrea, I'd like you to meet my son. Kalix Reagan."

I secretly glanced at the man who became a statue after seeing his parents. So, this guy has a name and that's Kalix? Not bad for an annoying man.

"And Kalix, this is Andrea Rodriguez, she's the next CEO of Rodriguez Enterprises and the only daughter of Henry Rodriguez."

"She's the girl you're going to marry."

I froze in my position when I heard that from this lady, is she trying to mess with me?

"Is t-that a joke?" I laugh nervously.

"No, my daughter. He's the man I've been trying to tell you, Kalix Reagan, your soon to be husband."

Help me…
