Anniversary

The three of us guided Ma and Papa to the table where two garlands were kept in a tray. They exchanged the garlands. All of us showered them with flower petals. The grass was filled with various coloured flowers. The air was filled with love and compatibility. On one side of the garden, a table was set with all types of delicacies, sooji halwa( desert), jalebi( desert) aloo paratha, cutlet, idli muffins, pancakes, fritters. I helped Ma and Lenna helped Papa, who sat in the middle of the table. After serving them all of us sat with them.

Arjun joined us after some time but he was silent except for a few forced answers. I was feeling guilty. After finishing my breakfast, I stood up and went inside. As if on cue, Arjun entered, I dragged him to the other side of the room which was a little bit secluded.

“ Arjun, I am sorry. Please forgive me. I was being childish. It was all my fault that I ran away without thinking of the consequences.” I held my ears and dropped to my knees
