Maya quietly slurped on the smoothie in her hold, a pen in hand and eyes focused on the textbook on the table in front of her. Although Burberry's was fairly busy today, she'd chosen the booth far back in the restaurant, it was secluded and no one would get a good view of her unless they were looking very closely. Her first exam was in three days and to say that she was anxious was an understatement, pharmacology tests were quite difficult and she mostly had a hard time differentiating between the different compounds in some drugs. The entire room was pitch black, no matter how much she squinted, she couldn't make out anything. It was too dark, she mused fearfully. The engine died and they were submerged in darkness once more. Her eyes were glued on the small apartment ahead, the entire area was empty and she didn't know if her friends were back home already. After lunch with Jason, Maya retired back home earlier than she'd planned. No one was in so she had the whole space to herself, when she called Gab, her friend told her that she was on her shift already and Jason had a frat thing he had to get to. After taking a quick shower, she edited some of her videos and photos before uploading them. She'd face timed her parents and they talked for a long time with her mom promising to drop by since she was heading in that direction for work. She made a quick dinner and then returned to her bed where she picked up her anatomy textbook. She didn't have another exam until next week but it wouldn't hurt to read, or rather re-read in her case. She had her reading glasses on, her face propped by both her palms.
