KAI’S POINT OF VIEW Days had gone by and there was nothing from Elena or Alistair. He did not send anyone a message concerning Elena’s wellbeing or if she had woken up or not. ELENA’S POINT OF VIEW It wasn’t hard to get a taxi in this part of town. I figured I was in Diamond Avenue while I was still in Alistair’s house. I was familiar with the area. While in the taxi, trying to ignore the driver’s occasional glances, I dialed Kai’s number. Alistair had given it to me yesterday. “Please pick up.” I whispered, tapping my foot impatiently. Two rings after, he answered. “Hello? Who is this?” My heart fluttered when I heard his voice. Get it together! Now wasn’t the time to swoon over a man’s voice. “Kai, it’s me.” “Elena?” “Elena?” That was Ryder’s voice. They were together. “Yes, it’s me.” “Where are you right now?” I couldn’t miss the worry in his voice. “We’ve been looking everywhere for you.” “I am in a taxi.
