Lilliana’s POV

It was as though my legs were moving faster than the rest of my body. I was running as fast as I could but the more I ran, the more it felt like I couldn’t escape.

My heart was in my throat and I felt my stomach knotting in fear as I went deeper and deeper into the woods.

My head felt light and my eyes kept going in and out of my head but I knew that I dared not wait.

I dared not stop to catch my breath because if I stopped then whatever I was running away from, whoever I was trying to avoid was eventually going to catch up with me.

The eerie sounds became louder and my legs were starting to feel weak, slowing down and making it difficult for me to run any faster.

“I can’t stop. I can’t stop.” I kept repeating to myself like it was some sort of mantra but my legs were giving up on me and that was when I remembered.
