Nikolai’s POV

“NIKOLAI!” Lilliana’s loud and alarmed voice reached me in the bathroom where I’d gone to take the ointment for her back.

I didn’t need a soothsayer to tell me that she’d already probably seen the mark on her back. Hurried, my feet padded back to the bedroom and I walked in to Lilliana freaking out.

Her towel had dropped to the ground and she had an obvious look of terror on her face. Tears already welled up in her eyes as she stared at me.

“W— What’s going on? How did these marks get there? What’s happening?” She asked, freaking out and thrown into a world of confusion.

“Calm down, it’s nothing serious, I promise I’ll get to the bottom of things and we’ll get something done about the claw marks.”

“Do you even hear what you’re saying?” She screamed and I could’ve sworn that my eardrums bursted with that loud sound.

“They are claw marks on my back and you’re asking me to calm down,” she screeched, “how did they get there? What’s happening? Do you know something?” She bomb
