EVA'S POV

After the mating ceremony was over, it was time for me to bid my parents goodbye. I was meant to stay with Adrian that night to be able to consummate our mating even if he was still nowhere to be found – only the goddess knew where he was. Tears streamed down my cheeks, and I cried as soon as my mom hugged me tightly, I felt really bad – I was going to miss her terribly but there was no going back now. The mating ceremony was done and I had a mate now, a new family, so I thought. I didn't know that I would feel this bad to see my parents leave, especially my mom. I was crying profusely like a little child when they got to the car and announced that they would be on their way. I had lived with my parents all my life so this felt so strange. "I'm going to miss you, my sweet girl." My mom whispered to me as she held me closely once again.
