Chapter 98

EVA'S POV

As I sat on the edge of my bed, staring out of the window, I heard a knock at the door. My heart skipped a beat when I looked up and saw my father standing there.

I couldn't believe he had finally come to see me. He had been avoiding me since I returned home two days ago. But here he was, standing before me, apologizing for his cold treatment towards me.

"Eva," he called out in a gentle voice. "I'm sorry I haven't been to see you since you got back. I hope you're doing okay."

I looked at him, my expression unsure. I wasn't sure if I should forgive him so easily. But then again, he was my father, and I missed him. So, I nodded and gave him a small smile.

"It's okay, Dad," I said softly. "I understand."

He took a seat next to me, and we sat in silence for a moment. I could tell he was struggling to find the right words to say.

But I waited patiently, hoping he would say something, anything.
