Audrey's POV.

I pranced around the king's room nervously, wondering why he took so long after he left the room with Prince Erik even after he had told me that he wouldn’t be taking too long.

After prancing about the room for a while, I sat back down on his fluffy bed with a huff, my feet already tired from my incessant walking.

I sighed in frustration and tried to calm myself but I just couldn’t. I was sure that King Kaden would return soon, but I still felt worried because it was quite unlike him to say a thing and do another.

He had promised to come back after a little while and so I had waited patiently until now that it was quite over a few hours and he had still not shown up.

Unconsciously, I stared at the door and was shocked when it opened but when I waited for someone to walk in, no one did.
