Chapter four:

She drew closer to him, feeling his breath, his scent filled with cedar and spine. Karen wasn't sure why but she felt like she had wanted to kiss him all her life, she knew that it was wrong, but couldn't help it.

He also drifted closer to her, his hand slowly cupping her smooth tender face, and just then the door clicked open with Caramel storming in.

“ Alpha! ”. She called out.

“ Carmel what is it? ”. His voice is low and dark.

“ I was searching for you everywhere, turns out you were, was I interrupting? ”. Carmel slides forward towards the table.

“ What do you need? ”.

“ I just needed to update you on the men at the boundary”.

“ You could have Jasmine linking me, there was no need to come down here”.

“ I am sorry Alpha, I will leave now”. Carmel bowed her head, and her eyes fell on Karen one more time before leaving.

Back at CrystaMoonon's pack, the entire pack was in chaos after Karen went missing, Alpha Ralph who was pacing around the entire house could not stop calling all council members.

Alpha Cullen and Alpha Magnus sat at a bar outside CrystaMoonon They had both left their pack to be there for the engagement party, but seeing that things did not turn out well, Magnus was so pised.

“ What were you thinking ruining the plan we've made for years now just because you could not keep your pants to yourself on a very important day like this?

Magnus barked, his eyes filled with rage.

“ Relax, Karen will come back, and just a few words from me, she will come running back to me”.

With a smug on his lips sipped a sip of his bottle of whiskey while Magnus kept tapping his foot.

“ Cullen, you need to be careful now, elDolphlph might call off the engagement, you know how critical he can be especially about his daughter”.

“ I am fully aware of that, I will help with the search tomorrow so that they can all see how dedicated I am to her, that way you can be assured that our plan will work”.

Magnus exhaled loudly, feeling more at ease as he gulped down his entire glass of vodka.

Karen woke up feeling more better, Despite how shabby the pack house was compared to what she was used to, she suddenly felt sad leaving the place.

“ Thank you Al, pha Ryder for your help, I will inform my Father who is also an Alpha once I get back home about your kind gesture, I do believe he will reward your pack”.

“ You do not need to do that, we are fine, all you need to do is take good care of yourself and do not hunt in the woods alone until the council comes up with a solution regarding the wolves”.

“ They will, goodbye Alpha”. She waves her hand at him as she strides away.

Ryder stood there for a while as his thought drifted to the first time he was sent to the woods.

He was born with a silver spoon, but after the death of his parents, he was smuggled out of the pack and alone in the woods.

Ryder could recall his first night out there, he was just ten years old and had just watched his entire family murdered.

He had no wolf nor strength and under the cold and wailing of other wild animals out there in the woods, little Ryder was able to get through his first night alone.

As soon as Karen arrived at the Crystal Moon the first sight she met was Cullen at the entrance of the pack.

“ What are you doing here? ”. She asked as her jaws tightened into a frown.

“ Karen, you got us all worried, we've been searching for you the entire night”.

“ Why would you search for wasn't that what you wanted so we could call off the engagement”.

“ Why would I want to call off the engagement, you are my mate forever and nothing can ever change that fact”.

“ You must be delusional to think that I would still proceed with the marriage after what I witnessed yesterday, Cullen was my best friend of all people”.

“ And I am sorry Karen, how many times am I going to say it! ”.

“ I do not care, but I am not getting married to a pathetic cheat like you! ”.

“ You are not going to speak to me like that, I am your Alpha”.

“ You are not my Alpha!! ”. She roared, her voice echoed d, and she could hear her heartbeat pacing frantically.

“ You broke my heart into tiny pieces when you slept with Lilly, Why did it have to him? It could have been someone else from your pack, Why him? How am I supposed to face her ever again”.

“ I know that I messed up pretty bad yesterday and I am sorry, you kept on insisting until you met your wolf and I was getting impatient, please Karen”.

“ If I forgive this time, how am I so sure it won't happen again, How can I feel secure that each time you visit my past I do not find you somewhere with Lilly again”.

“ I give you my word Karen, it is never going to happen. The mooness paired us for a purpose, are you going to let just one mistake ruin everything? ”.

His hand slowly trails around her neck, Karpiercesrce him deep with her eyes as if searching for certainty in his eyes.

“ Cullen you hurt me pretty bad”.

“ I know I am sorry. Tell me what you want, whatever it is and I will do it ”.

Her eyes lock with his, and she kisses him sharply and dashes away as he chases after her.

Back home at the pack house, Ralph could not belittle his excitement when he finally set eyes on his daughter.

“ Karen! Where have you been? ”.

“ I am sorry Father for making you worried, I just needed to clear my head so I left”.

“ Why would you need to clear something wrong with you and Cullen? ”. He asks, staring at her skeptically.

“ No Father, not at all, we are fine”.

“ That is a relief, You ruined the engagement party, but that is not an issue, we can do it again at your upcoming birthday”.

“Father thinks that will be a good date”.

Just then, one of the wolves at the boundary scurried over, his heart pacing loudly.

“ Alpha!! ” He called out in a loud voice with sweat dripping down.

“ What is going on? ”.

“ It is the Rogue Alpha, he has just murdered Alpha Presh and taken over his pack! ”.

Ralph could feel a trickle in his chest like he had been struck with the tiniest and yet painful object.
