Chapter one:

“ Yes.. Yes… Yes… Cullen, don't stop… Don't stop please”. A tiny female voice came through from across the hallway.

The moaning grew more intense as Karen sauntered down the hallway, her hands Clutching on her red velvet gown that swept across the hallway.

She was familiar with the voice, it was Lily's voice, and she was certain about it.

She could hear two heartbeats pacing frantically, the redolence of sperm filling the entire hallway.

She came to a halt where the voice was louder, twisted the door knob, and right before her, stood her fears.

Alpha Cullen, her mate, was right on top of her best friend both naked. It was their engagement night and while the entire guest was waiting for the both of them, her fiance was having a good time with her best friend.

Karen Meckham was just seventeen years old and had yet to meet her wolf, but she had been told all her life that Alpha Cullen from Baymoon pack was her mate.

She was made to understand the mate bond between the both although she had never felt it, Cullen promised her that he would wait until she got her wolf before he would mark her.

But here he stood shivering under his underwear, while Lilly sat still, unmoved with a look of disdain in her eyes.

“ What is going on here? ”. She barely asked with her hand clunched to her chest while trying to breathe properly.

“ Karen dear, you have to calm down, what you just saw has an explanation, please”.

“ My best friend… Of all the girls out there, why did it have to be Lilly? ”. There was so much going through her head, but that was the first question she could think of.

The tears slowly trickled down her cheek as they ruined the makeup she spent hours applying.

“ Because I am hot, sexy, and a better mate for an Alpha unlike you who, you think because you walk around with shoulders high bragging about Alpha Cullen being your mate and what an extravagant wedding you were going to have, to think that I laughed when you made all those comments”

Lilly was now on her feet, she had just her underwear of cupped bra and pant, there was no doubt that she had good curves.

“ You do not feel sorry about having sex with my Mate! So all this while, you were so jealous of me”.

Lilly scoffed as she rolled her eyes at her.

“ Jealous indeed!! That is all everyone tells you, but how can you be so sure that he is your mate, while you are still waiting until you are eighteen years old to find out, I think that it is only proper that I have fun with him”.

Karen tightened her fist as roared, she could feel the anger building up inside of her, no longer unable to bear it, she surged forward towards Lilly but was stopped just in time by Cullen.

“ Stop it! Stop it Karen, who I chose to have sex with shouldn't be a problem to you, your only concern is that I marry you and mark you like you've always wanted”.

“ What!! ”. Karen wasn't sure she heard him correctly, she felt like all her marrows were sucked out of her.

“ Cullen! Did you just say that to me, You are the one that has always talked about the mate bond and how important it should be to me, but you broke the bond with no remorse at all. I am sorry but I can't go on with this”.

“ Stop! Do not do anything that would bring shame to your father and the entire pack, I only promised to marry you and I am keeping to my own of the bargain”.

“ You are so disgusting! ”. She exclaimed and rushed out of there hoping to hide her tears away from them.

Karen has always been considered the strongest female werewolf in Crystal Moon Pack with no emotions at all.

but today, on her engagement day when distinguished wolves from all around the world came to celebrate her, she was cheated and felt her heart had been shredded to pieces.

Karen ran out of the pack house and didn't stop there. She kept on running even when it felt like she was out of breath and could collapse, the pain she felt from deep within kept her going.

And she only stopped when she stood at the boundary of Crystal Moon away from anyone who knew her.

The tears she had were clasping trickled down her cheek and she sobbed loudly.

Even when she wanted to stop, she couldn't, the tears couldn't stop trickling down to her neck, her heart clouded with pains as the image of her mate with another woman filled her head.

Karen was always sensitive to sound and smell, but she was too distracted and did not notice the group that had surrounded her.

Until she sniffed in, she could perceive it as a wolf's bane. She roared so loud while she got on her feet but they had surrounded her, the smell of the wolf's bane weakening her body.

A knife was thrown at her, and although she was able to swerve it, it still grazed her skin, the poison slowly sinking into her.

One of the hunters rushed towards her, but despite how light-headed was feeling, she kicked him hard on his knee causing him to withdraw backward while whimpering in pain.

The next hunter spurt towards her, but Karen wasn't going to give up without a fight, she stumped him hard from behind with her elbow, but he still held onto her tightly while choking on her neck.

Karen was gasping for breath, there was no way out, Her eyes were slowly shutting down although she knew she shouldn't give up, they had her subdued.

The hunter held her feet ready to inject a tiny syringe into her arm, but just then, there was a roar through the woods as it echoed so hard that it felt like an earthquake.

The hunters let go of her, trembling in fear at the uproar in the woods and just then, a big black wolf stormed out, his eyes flickering silver was piercing deeply at them.

“ It is the Rogue Alpha”. They shiver at the mention of his name.

“ Run! ”. One of them announced before running away while the others also took to their heels as fast as their legs could go.

But it was the Rogue Alpha, who was brutal and never set his prey free. He charged towards them, and in just a few steps, he grabbed both of them with both his hands and shredded them to pieces.

Karen who was forced to the ground while they ran for their life tried to get up, but her limbs felt numb, no matter how much she tried, she couldn't move.

She watched the big black wolf shredding his prey into pieces, their blood flowing towards her.

He was a rogue wolf, she knew he was not going to let her go, she attempted to get up again, this time she was able to move her feet again but stumbled and fell.

The wolf shifted into his human form and scurried away to get his clothes. Coming back to where she was still floundering to run, Karen was enchanted by the image that stood before her.

He had a fair-toned shape with deep and expressive green eyes that could pull any woman off her feet, his was huge with a masculine body and chiseled chest.

Gradually he sauntered over to her, and as he carried her in his arms, Karen felt like all her difficulties were swept away that minute.

Her eyes still locked with his, she was so drawn to him that it felt like she had known him all her life and yet she was sure that she had never seen that face before.

Slowly she could feel her body acting up on her until she finally passed out.
