CHAPTER FIFTEEN

Emma closed her eyes as a tiny tear dropped on her chin. The wind was beating furiously against her face and she could barely see through the thick cover of trees around her.

She had her arms wrapped tightly around Clyde’s neck as they dashed through the woods. His agility amazed her as he propelled himself faster and faster.

She didn’t know how she had accepted to go with him. She didn’t understand why she was perched on his back as they moved through the woods. But what she knew was that the last couple of days had messed with her head. She couldn’t keep track of the things she didn’t understand so she just had to add that to her list.

She didn’t resist when he offered to take her to his pack nor did she reject his offer to carry her there. She had simply accepted because she was terrified of his reaction if she declined. But she was also curious. She desired to see his pack and the world beyond simple humanity.
