Chapter 1 -She's back

"Are you sure you are ready to marry him?" her step mother asked with a concerned voice to her and she just sighed while driving.

"How many times do I have to repeat myself?" she smiled while driving on the Capital of Regatier. "Just hang on, mom, I'm driving on my way there now," she said and sighed. Her family business started falling down from then on for some reason, and her happy days hiding abroad has ended.

She need to marry someone of her caliber now to save their business. Yes, all for the family business.

"I know that you love the company, Amara, but I'm still worried about you..." she smiled when she heard those kind words. Her mother passed away when she was young and the one who had been with her ever since.

"Thanks, mom," she said, "I'll call you back." and suddenly hit the brake because of the man who kept speeding up earlier. She opened the door and get outside of the highway where the car had stopped too..

"What the hell is wrong with you!" She shouted and remove her sunglasses, "Stop fucking around and open these goddamn windows!" and knocked on it.

To her surprise, it was Lucas.

"Chill! You just got back and you're that hot? Ooooh hot!" and looked at her body. Compared to how she is before, she is a completely different person right now. Oozing with confidence and a very opposite on how she dressed in her early years, Amara looked great.

"Stop it, Lucas, you're not funny," she said and rolled her eyes. "Next time you pull something like this, I will really bumped your ass off!"

"Ooooh, I would love that!" and winked at her but then drove while laughing.

That is Lucas, one of her closest friend. He likes to welcome her with a blast... Everyone thought that they would look good together but the truth is that he likes... guys.

"So, when will the wedding be?" Amara asked and gave her sweetest smile. Lucas wanted to gave her a yuck smile but what can he do? He needed a reason to support her family.

His parents hasn't handed down their riches to him yet so he needed to do this. To marry her to save their shrinking company.

"Next month," Lucas said as they planned. Amara automatically smiled when she heard that.

"Ohohoh, I knew that you two would be the end game in the end!" their parents clapped their hands. "If that bastard didn't do that...."

"Mom," Lucas stopped his mother. They are recalling what happened to the wedding four years ago that made Amara go to other country.

"Amiga, that is in the past. Now, we're happy to see Lucas and Amara getting married," her stepmother clapped her hands, "What could be more blessing than this!"

"That's true! You know, I really can't forgive that man for hurting our dearest Amara!"

"Yes. That is why we'll make this the wedding of the century!" her step mother really is not fond of Zachary, who wanted the wedding of Amara and him to be simple. It's just that Amara is head over heels on him that she can't say anything about it. But not anymore.

"I agree, we're going to invite my other amigas, celebrities, and elite of the elites!" she said and tilt her head. "Would you grant us the permission to prepare the wedding, my dearest Amara?"

After those talk in the salas, Lucas and Amara was now left alonein the terrace.

"Are you really fine with this? You know that I like guys!" and looked at the pool underneath this. Amara rested her back on the wall.

"You know, when he did not showed up at our wedding, I thought that would be the end of me," she looked so sad, "I fear losing him more than anything that I lose myself."

A long silence engulfed the two of them.

"But I didn't know that my whole family is affected too. We suffered humiliation, and it all leads to here. Now, it my time to pay my parents back," she said, "So, there is no turning back."

And so, the news of Lucas Grandcrown and Amara Cortez has been known all over the country. As days grown closer, Amara couldn't explain but have her what ifs.

Like...

What if we did get married? Will we be able to live happily then?

No, for sure he would be with that woman.

Amara clenched her fist when the unwanted memories started lingering in her mind.

"Have you chosen the dish yet?" Lucas asked her and pulled out a chair for her. They are now in the Grand Rio, one of the most expensive restaurant.

"Hmmn," she said and flip out some pages, "I bet anything you serve will be liked by everyone. Imagine, the Grand Rio will provide food for the weddin," she smiled at him and Lucas chuckled.

"Of course, it's my wedding!" he looked at her with a teasing eyes, "It's only possible because it's me." and winked at me.

"You know, if I didn't know what you really like, I would fall for your jokes," she said and winked at him.

"Yuck!" he whispered and rolled his eyes at him which causes the two of them chuckle to each other. The moment was pure joy that they weren't able to notice that the noisy restaurant turned silent.

"I know you just misses me that much," Amara didn't know that she would be able to exchange jokes like that again. Four years is really long.

"Ehem," it was the manager of the Grand Rio. "Welcome to Grand Rio!" he is startled

"Oh my goodness, is that really Zachary Ashford?!" and they gasped.

"I thought he didn't like coming here? Could it be a business deal?"

Amara stopped and looked at the direction where the attention is centered.

"Oh, what's the matter?" Lucas said and turned his head to where Amara is looking.

"Zachary Ashford."
