Chapter Twenty Four

Roxie woke the following morning with Avery wrapped around her from behind. She had to carefully wiggle out of his grap to get up. She was a little sore, but quite happy. She started the process of getting ready for her next training session with Avilene. She was brushing her hair in the mirror when she noticed the scar that was on across her neck the day before, was completely gone. She also looked at her new mark. It was pretty, two cresent mark tattoos intwined at the nape of her neck. She liked the way they looked. The thought suddenly occured to her, if the scar was healed, did that mean that the mate bond fixed it? She thought about testing it. She had been preoccupied with staring at her neck and her mark, so much that she didn't see Avery coming up behind her. When she suddenly looked back up and saw him standing behind her in the mirror, she let out a shrill squeal that startled them both.
