Lillian's perspective.

The servant glanced at the coin-sized red patch on my arm and rolled his eyes. "Madam, don't blame me for not reminding you that if the Queen hears you mention the word "ghost" again, she will definitely make you kneel for a day and a night in anger."

"But... it really is blood..."

"What's so terrifying about blood? Maybe a cat was catching a mouse on the roof and the mouse's blood fell on your hand by chance. Voilà! " The male servant might be trying to gloss the matter over, but his face was as pale as mine was, glancing at the blood on my arm from time to time.

His explanation did make a kernel of sense, but I couldn't help but take a deep cold breath. All the hairs on my body stood up.

"Madam, please return to your punishment. You are to keep at it until seven o'clock tonight." The male servant pushed me back with a serious face.
