Nadia's POV
My familiar ringtone woke me up from my slumber. I sat up, resting on the headboard to see who it was. A gentle smile curled on my lips as I picked it.
"Look who decided to give me a call." I said.
"Maybe I decided to let you know that I am at your door and your guards need you to confirm my identity before letting me in. Luna Nadia, could you kindly tell your guards to let me in?" Penelope mimicked causing me to throw back my head in laughter.
"What?" I hopped off the bed in joy. Swinging my pink shawl around my neck, I dashed to the living area.
I missed her so much. Her words had a spectacular way of rolling off my burden and after months of her absence, I could not wait to wrap my hands around her.
Pulling the door open, I stepped outside, "hey Nick, please open the gate."
The gate opened revealing Penelope. I threw all caution to the wind and ran into her arms.
"I missed you." I confessed to her.
"I missed you too and I'm sorry I missed your wedding." She giggled running her eyes over the house.
"You shouldn't be sorry you missed a wedding you weren't invited to." A low giggle escaped my throat as I linked my hand with hers and we walked inside.
I had explained everything to her thereafter. Pen had been writing exams and so she couldn't be there in time for the wedding as opposed to the plans we made when our prince charmings came for us. Life certainly had a way of pulling up surprises on us.
"My God." She exclaimed when she scanned the hallway walls decorated with beautiful art works.
"I know right. Will doesn't do ordinary." I beamed with pride leading her into the living area so she could sit.
"Welcome to my humble abode." I grinned at her.
"Well if you must know Nadia, there is nothing humble about this gigantic home. It ia beautiful." She mouthed the final compliment.
"Thank you. Now what would you like to have? We have-"
"Could I have some water please?"
I nodded and strode into the kitchen to get her some fruit juice since I had let Rosa off after a long day.
"Is everything okay, Penelope?" I asked her when I strode back into the parlor with the tray in my hands.
Pen was no longer standing, she sat on one of the chairs looking lost. I felt the atmosphere change.
"Yes, of course! Why?" A small smile slowly creeped onto her face morphing into a weary look. She picked up her drink and downed it at once.
But then I knew Pen. I had known her for ten years now since she stopped some girls from bullying me in highschool. Since then we had become so close.
"Are you really sure? Is something going on with you? Is there something you'd like to tell me?" I pressed her for answers.
"You worry too much Nadia. You'd be the first person to know if something was up with me." She reassured me as she stood up to her feet.
"Are you leaving already?" I stood up to my feet. The house was almost empty except for the help and the guards who were always around.
Will had traveled the day before and would be back in two days. Even if he hadn't, we had enough rooms to house hundreds of guests but we hadn't gotten to that and Pen-
"Yes." She muffled a yawn that indicated that she was tired as her words affirmed my question which further made me feel strange.
"I just came in to say hello to the newest Luna of Barkley Cove. I didn't want you to hear about my sudden arrival from someone else." She pointed out.
Which was true but it felt like it wasn't the full truth. I smiled at her. It had been six months since we last saw each other. Although I had expected that we'd spend chat deep into the night,it could always wait.
"It's almost late, let's get you back home." I took her hand into mine as we strode towards the door.
As we strode towards the gate hand in hand, my mind thought about a million reasons as to why I doubted that everything was okay with Pen. There were ways to find out if everything was really okay with my best friend but it would take time. Maybe when she was ready, she would let me in on it.
"Ma'am should I-"
My eyes connected with Nick and he got the meaning immediately. Will had assigned two guards to follow me around on the day he traveled. I didn't want Penelope feeling strange around them.
I was still trying to adapt to my new status. She on the other hand was still new to all this. I walked her down to the busstop where she'd take a cab home.
Just as we got there, a cab halted. Pen disengaged from me after hugging me. Then she strode into the cab.
"Bye Pen." I blew her a kiss before turning back onto the streets that led home.
Suddenly, I could feel eyes on me. The hairs on my neck stood at alert. I swirled around to see who it was but no one was there.
As I strode away into the house, a deep unsettled feeling settled in the lowerpit of my stomach making me to wonder if I had been hallucinating, if indeed someone had been watching me or if all these was in a way related to Nina's promise to tear I and Will apart.
NADIA’S POVI woke up to the vibrating beep of my phone. Sitting up on my bed, I rubbed my drowsy eyes feeling reluctant to check whoever must have sent a text message. The room was a bit dark, and chilly enough to soothe me back to sleep. I reached for my phone and checked the message when the message popped on the screen.Hey best, how about we go to a party just to hang out like old times? The last dregs of sleep disappeared almost immediately and relief flooded my heart. Since Penelope had suggested that we went out like old times, it meant that I would finally know what was going on with her, and why she acted off when she came to visit me.Sure! Text me the address.I quickly texted her back to tell her I’m in for that, and after doing that, I jerked off the bed, and dashed to my wardrobe to check out for something befitting for the party.I finally had a reason to get out of the confines of this house. Will’s business trip was extended, which made me bored. Scanning through th
Nadia's PovI opened my eyes gently, and closed it back immediately when my head felt heavy. I grunted as I tried to lift myself, my body felt heavy, and a pang of headache hit me, spreading excruciating pains inside me. Feeling something in my left hand, I glanced at it, and noticed a white paper was tucked in it. I definitely wasn’t holding a paper when I walked into the restroom, so the stranger must have placed it in my hand.I sat up and began to open the squeezed paper when the door to the restroom burst open revealing Nick and the guard with him. I squeezed it tightly and tried to get up.“Ma’am, what happened? Did someone do this to you?” Nick asked, worriedly, with his eyes wandering around my body to check for anything wrong. The other guard who had driven us down here stomped into the toilet."There's no one here." He said when he strode out."Are you okay,ma'am?" It was best to lie to them or Will would increase the number of guards following me around, which meant tight
NADIA’S POV "Welcome home," I smiled at him as I walked out of the bathroom, naked. The aura in the room was intoxicating as Will’s manly scent had filled everywhere, which was difficult to resist. "Come here." He motioned for me to join him on the bed, his hungry gaze drinking me in. I approached him slowly, relieving myself of the towel wrapped around me. This was it. This was another part of my loving husband I had missed. I bit my lower lips seductively, and then bent down to him as I caressed his lower abdomen, and trailed my hand to his legs, gently. His eyes fluttered shut as he arched himself into my touch, reaching up towards me. "Oh, baby," I moaned, kissing him passionately. "What do you want?" I asked him quietly, but with passion. My husband looked at me with lustful longing. I didn't need his answer; I already got it. As I kissed my way down the length of his body, he watched me fondly as he stroked his dick gently while watching me. I crouched and took it into my
NADIA’S POVThe wind whipped at me as I dashed through the pitch dark woods. The cold night air stung my skin and caused goosebumps to form across every inch of my body. My hands were stuffed in my pockets, but that wasn’t much protection against the biting wind. I shivered violently from head to toe as it whipped strands of my hair into my eyes. I turned another corner, hoping to find myself heading deeper into the forest. My breathing became ragged, and my knees wobbled weakly beneath my weight. The cold didn't help matters either.I swung my arms back and forth, and looked back at intervals. I could feel someone was chasing after me, and I could sense a dangerous intent. Some leaves on light branches pricked my skin and caused marks to appear on my body as I ran past them. The trees were denser here and there where they grew thicker than most, forcing me to weave my way through them in order to stay in the open. As soon as I made it into the densest part, I stopped completely and
NINA’S POV“What do you mean you can’t do it! Tell me, uhn!” I yelled at the top of my voice, feeling really frustrated, and eager to destroy any fragile object around me.“I’m sorry, I just don’t think I can.” Her voice trembled a bit.“Wait, did you do what I asked you to do the other time?” I asked, staring at her like I was going to rip her into pieces if she gave me a no as an answer.“I couldn’t. That’s what I’m trying to explain here.”“Don’t give me this bullshit! How could you not carry out that plan! Do you want to ruin everything I have planned, and the resources I have utilized for this!""Do you want everything to go to waste?” I questioned with rage growing inside of me, and I picked up the vase which was on the table, and threw it against the wall. I had no time for her silly excuses and I definitely had no time to understand her point of view.I was running out of time. The flower vase broke into tiny shards on the brown coloured tiled floor. I met with her gaze, anger
NADIA’S POVThe doorbell rang, pulling me out of my daydream. I stood up and signaled to my maid not to bother opening the door. I pushed the front door open and welcomed Penelope. After seeing Will off to his car, I had taken my breakfast and called Penelope that I needed to speak with her urgently. My joy knew no bounds when she agreed to come.“I’m so sorry for calling you out suddenly, and that you had to go through the sun’s wrath.” I said, intertwining my right hand with hers.“Oh, darling, you should know I'd do anything for you. Moreover, I didn't like the way you sounded on the phone. Nadia, is there anything wrong?” Penelope questioned, looking concerned.Hot torrents rolled down my cheeks before I could form the words.“Nadia, you need to talk to me. What exactly is going on?” Penelope gave me a worried look.“A lot is going on, Penelope. A lot.” I managed to speak out as tears streamed down to my chin.“Nadia, whatever is going on, I’m here to listen to you. Just try to st
NINA’S POV“What!? She’s going to school?” I exclaimed as I shot up from the couch. My day had been going well up until this sudden news. I didn't pay the man who was watching her every move and the one who injected her just for her to move on with her life. I was trying to scare Nadia because I knew her weakness and now this!“This can’t be, Penelope! Are you sure you heard right?” I asked, holding the phone close to my ear.My blood boiled and I wanted to snap anything within my reach. If Nadia found a way out of this, all my resources would be wasted and that wasn't as painful as not getting the one who belonged to me after paying the price and sullying my hands. In times like this, I regretted running away. If i had known, I would never have absconded. Now, I knew better but things weren't easy.“That’s precisely what I heard from her. Will has approved it, so she should be attending college anytime soon. Just thought to inform you.” Penelope repeated flatly.I needed Nadia acting
NADIA’S POVTwo weeks here had been nothing short of joy. I was loving and living my dream life all thanks to my husband.Getting enrolled was very easy because Will was supportive. To crown it all, I was able to convince him to allow me to keep a guard who would stay around and not follow me everywhere , making me feel awkward.A smile curled on my lips at the thought of my loving husband.“Hey, Nadia.” Derek called out to me as he walked into the class, with his right hand in his pocket.“Hi, Derek. Didn’t expect to see you so early.” I said, with a smile, as I turned to him when he sat beside me.Derek was a friend I met two days after I got admitted. He was a nice guy and beyond that, I loved his artistic prowess. I liked the fact that he respected me and acted mature.“Yeah, I guess I can say the same thing about you.” He chuckled lightly, and ran his fingers through his dark curls.“Look. I drew the Eiffel Tower, but there’s something weird about it.” I uttered, hoping he could
