The club saga

NADIA’S POV

I woke up to the vibrating beep of my phone. Sitting up on my bed, I rubbed my drowsy eyes feeling reluctant to check whoever must have sent a text message.

The room was a bit dark, and chilly enough to soothe me back to sleep. I reached for my phone and checked the message when the message popped on the screen.

Hey best, how about we go to a party just to hang out like old times?

The last dregs of sleep disappeared almost immediately and relief flooded my heart. Since Penelope had suggested that we went out like old times, it meant that I would finally know what was going on with her, and why she acted off when she came to visit me.

Sure! Text me the address.

I quickly texted her back to tell her I’m in for that, and after doing that, I jerked off the bed, and dashed to my wardrobe to check out for something befitting for the party.

I finally had a reason to get out of the confines of this house. Will’s business trip was extended, which made me bored. Scanning through the wardrobe for the perfect outfit wasn't an hassle because Will had spoilt me silly with shopping before he traveled.

I selected a dark blue gown, donned it on and did my makeup in a hurry before striding off to the living room while texting Nick. A warm glow lit the living area giving it a beautiful outlook.

Pulling the front door open, Nick stood with three burly unsmiling guards.

“Good evening, ma’am.” They all greeted, in a respectful tone.

“Evening. I’m going somewhere, and I need only one of you to go with me.” I said to them, and they both exchanged looks like they didn’t expect that from me.

“I’ll go with you, ma’am.” One of them moved forward.

“Alright then.” I nodded and walked into the car he held open for me while Nick sat at the front.

In no time, we got to the club. Apolamvano was boldly inscribed on the club's wall and I could hear loud music coming from the building. The lights inside were turned low, but the light from outside shone brightly into the club.

It seemed to be a popular hangout spot for college kids. There were many people dressed in casual clothing milling around.

This wasn't really my thing and Will, if he got wind of it would never be in support but since Penelope had requested it, I would endure it for her sake or I would ensure Nick kept this from him.

I stepped out of the car holding onto Nick's hand while taking in the surroundings.

Dipping my hand into my purse, I retrieved my phone and dialled Penelope's number but it wasn't reachable.

Fuck!

I dialed it again and it was the same result. This was frustrating.I decided to text her to tell her that I was at the club already, waiting for her before I walked into the club.

As I waltzed in, I bumped into someone and his drink spilled on my gown.

“Shit!” I cursed under my breath.

“Oh! I’m so-” The man apologized but before he could conclude his statement, Nick had grabbed him by the neck.

“Why the hell did you spill that drink on her!” He questioned, angrily.

He had probably seen the scene from where he was, and dashed in. Although I had instructed him not to come in, I felt relieved when he appeared.

“Come on, man. It was a mistake. And she bumped into me.” The man defended himself, looking quite annoyed.

“It’s alright. I’m fine, and I did bump into him, so just back off.” I said to him before things got worse.

It wasn't his fault after all, I must have bumped into him due to my nervousness. Where was Penelope? That was the only thing on my mind.

I didn’t like the fact that it was gradually turning into a scene which I didn’t want, especially with the fact that people were beginning to look at us.

“I’ll clean myself up in the restroom.” I pushed a few strands of my hair behind my ear and made my way to the restroom. I pushed the door to the restroom and turned the water on to clean myself but it only made it worse.

“Jeez.” I said, under my breath.

Suddenly I felt a strong presence there with me as the hairs on my neck stood causing me to whirl around but there was no one there. Again. Was I being paranoid? I thought to myself.

Fear clawed at my insides as I stared into the mirror. My heart thudded against my ribcage and adrenaline coursed through my veins making me shiver.

This was the second time in a matter of weeks I had experienced this inexplicable presence that made me feel so vulnerable. And it scared me so much. My sixth sense started working overtime and I knew that I had to leave the rest room.

My hands shook uncontrollably as I washed them and dried them up with the towel. With a trembling hand I pulled the door.

But before I could open it, I felt strong hands grab me and immediately the stranger injected something into my neck which made me weak.

My mouth opened slightly but nothing came out except a small whimper, "No. No. No. Please don't hurt me." The fear gripped my body tightly, my voice broke and I choked on my words.

I wanted to run away but the floor felt like it moved beneath me. I fell to the cold hard floor trying to fight away the effects of whatever the stranger had used on me while trying to see who it was.

I gasped when I realized what was actually going to happen to me. My vision became fuzzy. I closed my eyes, giving in to the deep darkness that engulfed me.
