The oil in the pan began to smoke, and Jade exclaimed as she hastily added the cut ingredients to the wok. The ingredients hit the hot surface with a sizzle, releasing a fragrant aroma.

As Jade wielded the spatula, she noticed Caelan standing there, looking as utterly bewildered as an adorable dog. Her heart softened for a moment.

"Pass me the soy sauce?" she asked.

Caelan scanned the kitchen before picking up a seasoning bottle and handing it over. Jade nearly burst into laughter when she saw it—Caelan had handed her the vinegar instead of the soy sauce.

"It's over there." Jade suppressed her laughter as she showed him.

Caelan, who remained expressionless, felt a bit nervous. This was the first time he had entered a kitchen, and it was unexpectedly troublesome.

Jade noticed his unease and found it amusing. However, as she chuckled inwardly, her heart ached.
