Chapter 41

The Trio

Patrick and Evander agreed to try the farming idea. They spent the next hour picking which foods they would grow and putting together a plan. Evander suggested they buy animals like chickens and roosters to create a supply of eggs and more chickens.

"All we need now is a farming team to execute the plan," Patrick said.

"We can do get some volunteers tonight at the community meeting."

"Since when is there a town meeting?" Patrick asked.

"Since now. Get everyone together. Meeting starts an hour before sundown." Evander thanked Patrick for his time and the coffee, and we jumped back in the car.

"You inquired about the land? Why?" Evander asked me to refer to my comment about Godric’s farming suggestion.

I answered him. "Why wouldn't I want to know about the land where I would spend the rest of my life."

Evander wasn't satisfied with the answer I spit out. He gave me a skeptical look
